In 2025, a retired couple from Heathcote, Victoria, partnered with Style In The Ranges on their classic Aussie Farmhouse renovation. It was their first time hiring an interior designer, and they were initially a bit nervous about the whole process.

They’d lived in their home for over twenty years, and  hadn’t made any changes to the original decor from the 1990s. Their home was lovingly maintained, but it was no longer aligned with their ideal lifestyle.

Top of their renovation wish list was a modern country-style kitchen in a home with a clean, light, and comfortable aesthetic, which would be easy to maintain. Our clients wanted to showcase their treasured home collection, not replace everything, and to highlight their love for three different design styles: Art Deco, English Victorian, and Mid-Century Modern.

We created a design guide that honored their ideas and exceeded their expectations. Using a unified colour palette and repeating materials, we made their whole home feel cohesive and cosy. By mixing high-end and budget-friendly pieces we brought out the best in both the architecture and their furnishings. We placed their home collection in different rooms, to bring their new layout to life.

Their initial budget went further than they thought, which was a nice surprise. The extra investment allowed us to fully renovate the laundry, which now features a combined butler’s pantry and laundry space.

They were simply overjoyed by the results! Fresh Dulux paint, new white oak floors and wool carpets, the kitchen and butler’s pantry, modern appliances, and stylish accessories elevated their interiors and elegantly combined their favourite design styles. To achieve this, our team of professionals partnered with Mr Client, who is a skilled handyman and renovator, to complete the interiors during 2025. We finished just in time to host their extended family for Christmas celebrations in December. He loves that their home is, “So much easier to look after now!” He’s enjoying painting the new exterior colour palette, which we can reveal here soon too.
